To install a Thule Tepui rooftop tent, an aftermarket roof rack is necessary. Thule's roof racks are highly recommended due to their superior design, quality, and strength, making them an ideal choice for supporting Tepui tents. Be sure to consult the Thule Fit Guide on the manufacturer's website to determine the recommended roof rack weight capacities. Additionally, refer to your vehicle's instruction manual for the recommended roof load.

For those using non-Thule brand roof racks, it is essential to check both the vehicle and roof rack owner’s manuals for maximum weight capacity. Please note that Thule cannot guarantee the compatibility or load capabilities of other roof racks.

Crossbar Dimensions and Weight Capacity

When installing a Thule Tepui tent, the following crossbar specifications and weight capacities must be adhered to:

• Minimum Crossbar Distance:
• 2-person tent: 25.2 inches (64 cm)
• 3-person tent: 33.5 inches (85 cm)

• 4-person tent: 30.7 inches (78 cm)

• Maximum Crossbar Width: 3.25 inches (80 mm)

• Maximum Crossbar Height: 1.5 inches (38 mm)
• Minimum Weight Capacity: 165 lbs (75 kg)

For roof rack foot spreads greater than 50 inches (127 cm), use Thule AeroBlades, Thule WingBar Evo, Thule ProBar Evo, Thule Xsporter, or TracRac bars instead of Thule SquareBar Evo.

Installation Restrictions

Do not use Tepui tents with the following types of roof racks:

• Clamp Style roof racks
• Edge roof racks
• Factory-installed crossbars
• Slide Bars

Additionally, Tepui tents should not be used on vehicles with glass roofs. Vehicles with sunroofs are compatible, but the sunroof opening function should not be used when the tent is installed.
